Our School of Theology has welcomed students from all around the world throughout its 3 seasons. We are delighted to announce that our fourth season started on 9th September 2023.

Join us each month as we delve into practical, biblical and systematic theology with the help of experienced speakers such as Rev Dr Ian Hamilton, Prof Ian Shaw, Rev Dr Peter Sanlon and Dr Terry Johnson.

MEET THE SPEAKERS

Rev Dr Ian Hamilton

  • Dr Ian Hamilton (BA, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow; BD, University of Edinburgh; MPhil, University of Edinburgh, 1980; DD: GPTS) serves on the governing board of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and the Banner of Truth Trust. He is also the Editor of the Banner of Truth magazine. He has previously lectured at London Seminary and continues to lecture occasionally at Edinburgh Theological Seminary.

Prof Ian Shaw

  • Prof Shaw is Emeritus Professor at University of York Social Sciences. His current teaching is around Social Theory and Social Work and Qualitative Methods.

Dr Terry Johnson

  • Dr Johnson is the senior minister of Independent Presbyterian Church in Savannah, GA. He is the author/compiler of the Trinity Psalter and Leading in Worship, and author of The Case for Traditional Protestantism, Reformed Worship, and numerous other books. He and Emily have five children.

Rev Dr Dan Peters

  • Dan Peters (BTh. Edinburgh Theological Seminary, MTh. Edinburgh Theological Seminary) is the minister of Newcastle Reformed Evangelical Church. He previously served as the assistant minister of Cambridge Presbyterian Church and has also lectured at Edinburgh Theological Seminary.

Rev Dr Peter Sanlon

  • Dr. Peter Sanlon (BA, University of Oxford; MPhil & PhD, University of Cambridge) is author of 'Simply God: Recovering the Classical Trinity' (IVP) and 'Augustine's Preaching' (Fortress). Previously Peter has taught at St. John's College, Nottingham; Oak Hill College, London and Union School of Theology, Wales. He is the founding minister of Emmanuel Church, Tunbridge Wells.

Dr Steven Firmin

  • Dr Firmin is a lecturer in Christian Ethics at the McDonald Centre in Oxford. The McDonald Centre fosters conversation both between Christian theology and other disciplines, and between academia and those who shape public deliberation and policy. Into its discussions it draws scholars from around the world, as well as public office-holders, civil servants, policy-makers, and opinion-formers.

Dr Nick Needham

  • Dr Nicholas Needham is minister of Inverness Reformed Baptist Church in Inverness, Scotland, and lecturer in church history at Highland Theological College in Dingwall, Scotland. He is author of the multivolume work ‘2,000 Years of Christ’s Power’.

Rev Tom Brand

  • Tom Brand is the ministry director of the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches, he is married to Natalie, and they have three young daughters.
