Five continents, one goal

When was the last time you sat in a classroom with students from 5 different continents?

At the start of May, we had the great joy of welcoming Dr Joseph Pipa from Greenville, SC, to lead a week of lectures for Westminster's most international class to date.

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Paul's words in Romans 10 formed the backdrop to this week of lectures, aimed at equipping a new generation of preachers to serve in Christ's church. Around a single table were men from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America—all hungry to learn from Dr Pipa's decades of pastoral experience.

“It was a stirring sight, a reminder of Christ's work in all nations across the globe.”

Throughout the week, students were given the opportunity to put their learning into practice by preaching at Westminster's chapel services. It was a stirring sight, a reminder of Christ's work in all nations across the globe, as the young men from radically different backgrounds opened up Scripture to the seminary community.

It is a privilege to be involved in the theological education of these future pastors, and we are excited to see where God will lead these young men in the years to come.
